Statement from Randy Mack

I have always had an appreciation for beauty in many forms and have been able to manifest that through my children and relationships, my Rolfing practice, poetry, and music DJing. For decades through various aspects of all of that I had the sense that if I were ever to get really deeply involved in art it would be in the visual arts. I tried but wasn’t able to manifest a vision that satisfied me until the development of computers (Mac) and image manipulating software (PhotoShop).

I love beauty and grace. I love images that allow us to touch higher and finer states of consciousness evoking that beauty in our heart. And yet when I look around at what is promoted and valued in the professional art world I see very little that is beautiful or uplifting.

For me the most beautiful realms are the multiplicity of nature’s glories from flowers and iridescent beetles, to sunlit clouds and gaseous nebulae, humans when they are healthy and happy, and the mystical inner visions found in altered states.

In my art I endeavor to explore finer dimensions of consciousness, doing what I can with pixels and ink on paper to represent in a small way the exquisite beauty found nature and the inner planes. I want to create images that are beautiful and inspiring to the eye, innocent mind, and unguarded heart; images that invite repeated prolonged gazing, providing nourishment for the soul.
